Fitrana Reminder

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Goldington Islamic Centre would like to remind everyone that Fitrana (Sadaqatul Fitr) this year is £5.50 per person. Please remember to include every member of your household, including children and dependents.

There are two ways to pay:

  • 1️⃣ Online: Pay via Ummah Welfare Trust using the custom amount option (£5.50 per person) https://uwt.org/projects/sadaqatul-fitr/
  • 2️⃣ Cash: A FITRANA bucket will be placed on the main table near the masjid entrance, clearly labelled FITRANA. All cash collected will also be transferred to Ummah Welfare Trust.


Who needs to pay?
Fitrana should be paid by every Muslim who has the means, on behalf of themselves and those they are responsible for.

When should it be paid?
Fitrana must be paid before the Eid Salah so it can reach those in need in time for Eid.

Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) made Zakat al-Fitr compulsory so those who fasted may be purified of their idle deeds and shameful talk and so that the poor may be fed (Hadith Abu Dawud).

Please try to pay your Fitrana early so it can reach those in need before Eid.
