Hifz

PURPOSE & TIMETABLE

  • The programme is for Hifz (memorisation). Students must already be able to read the Qur’an adequately. Reading ability may be assessed by the teaching team before or during the programme.
  • The Hifz Programme runs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45pm to 6:15pm, unless parents are notified otherwise.
     

ATTENDANCE & COLLECTION

  • All students are expected to observe punctuality and attend regularly.
  • Parents/guardians must arrange prompt collection at 6:15pm. GIC is not responsible for children before the session begins or after the agreed collection time.
  • If a child will be absent or late, the parent/guardian should notify GIC or the teacher as soon as possible.


CONDUCT & PREPARATION

  • Students are expected to observe good Islamic manners and conduct at all times, particularly in relation to salah, dress, speech, respect for teachers, other students and the masjid.
  • Students should use the toilet and complete wudhu before the session wherever possible, and should maintain cleanliness and hygiene while attending the masjid.
  • Students must bring their Qur’an and any books, stationery or other learning materials requested by their teacher.
  • Food, sweets, toys and unnecessary electronic devices should not be brought into the teaching area unless permission has been given.
     

PARENT /GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Parents/guardians must disclose any previous conduct, learning, medical or safeguarding information that may be relevant to their child’s participation.
  • Parents/guardians should support the revision and home practice set by the teacher and make every effort to attend any parent meetings arranged to discuss their child’s progress.
  • Parents/guardians should not enter teaching areas during lessons without permission from the teacher or programme lead, except in an emergency.
     

FEES

  • The programme fee is £40 per month and should be paid monthly in advance using the payment method provided by GIC.
  • Fees remain payable for the child’s place during normal programme closures or absences unless GIC confirms otherwise. Any exceptional circumstances should be discussed directly with GIC.
  • Where a family is experiencing genuine financial difficulty, they are encouraged to speak confidentially with GIC so that the situation can be considered.
